چکیده
Repairing and strengthening of existing aged steel-reinforced concrete structures is a major challenge. Today, much the repair work completed insufficient brittle. A promising new solution for tasks use iron-based shape memory alloy (Fe-SMA). The pre-strained Fe-SMA components enable pre-stressing building due to heat-triggered contraction steel. Thus, deflections can be reduced or even recovered. In addition, cracking process adapted, an improvement in load, under which first crack appears, possible. this paper, effects pre-stress generated by activated rebars, were centrally embedded inside specimen, are shown. objective study quantify loads show influences on load-bearing behavior process. For purpose, axial tensile tests performed bars with height, width, length 50 mm, 70 900 respectively. These compared usual construction steel but nonactivated rebars. evaluation patterns openings was done using digital image correlation (DIC). causes increase more than 150%, indicates clear state serviceability limit.

A jumping shape memory alloy under heat
Shape memory alloys are typical temperature-sensitive metallic functional materials due to superelasticity and shape recovery characteristics. The conventional shape memory effect involves the formation and deformation of thermally induced martensite and its reverse transformation. The shape recovery process usually takes place over a temperature range, showing relatively low temperature-sensit...
متن کاملSEISMIC OPTIMIZATION OF STEEL SHEAR WALL USING SHAPE MEMORY ALLOY
Nowadays, steel shear walls are used as efficient lateral-load-resistant systems due to their high lateral stiffness and carrying capacity. In this paper, the effect of substituting a shape memory alloy (SMA) material is investigated instead of using conventional steel in the shear wall. A numerical study is conducted using finite element method (FEM) by OpenSees software. For this purpose, at ...
متن کاملAn experimental study of the superelastic effect in a shape-memory Nitinol alloy under biaxial loading
Constitutive laws for shape-memory alloys subjected to multiaxial loading, which are based on direct experimental observations, are generally not available in the literature. Accordingly, in the present work, tension–torsion tests are conducted on thin-walled tubes (thickness/radius ratio of 1:10) of the polycrystalline superelastic/shape-memory alloy Nitinol using various loading/unloading pat...
متن کاملTwo-way shape memory effect of a TiNiHf high temperature shape memory alloy
The two-way shape memory effect in a Ti36Ni49Hf15 high temperature shape memory alloy (SMA) has been systematically studied by bending tests. In the TiNiHf alloy, the martensite deformation is an effective method to get two-way shape memory effect even with a small deformation strain. When the TiNiHf alloy is deformed at a full martensite state, the deformation mechanism is the martensite orien...
متن کاملShape memory effect and superelasticity in a strain glass alloy.
The shape memory effect and superelasticity are usually found in alloys exhibiting spontaneous martensitic transformation. Thus it is hard to imagine that such interesting effects can appear in a system without a martensitic transformation. In this Letter we show shape memory and the superelasticity effect in a nonmartensitic Ti48.5Ni51.5 alloy, which has no martensitic transformation but under...
